What do Sundays mean to you?

A rest day, a family day, a chores day, a cleaning day, a heavy meal day, an outing day, a DIY day

At Paper Ball Educational Innovation, we are quietly transforming our Sundays to “Sustainability Sundays“. A day where we connect with nature, raise our awareness and build a community with like-minded sustainability thinkers and doers. Sustainability Sundays aims to create a ripple effect of environmental consciousness, inspiring communities to take collective action towards a greener, healthier planet. We have pooled our activities/events undertaken on Sundays under the umbrella of Sustainability Sundays so that all the stakeholders can find these under one category and plan which ones they would like to be a part of.

How do Sustainability Sundays work?

We have designed short duration events and activities on Sundays for our communities – including children, youth, professionals – who would like to do their bit for the environment but do not know what spaces are available. These events and activities are designed with an aim to raise our common awareness regarding the environmental sustainability challenges, climate change and the health of our planet. The activities cater to different audiences so as to be diverse and therefore be more inclusive in raising our awareness.

What are the different events/activities that are planned for Sustainability Sundays?

All activities/events envisaged under the Sustainability Sundays have been grouped under the following three programmes –

  1. The flagship Clean-up Drives under ‘The Nature Connect‘ programme
  2. RE:Community (REpair Community) will host the repair community events
  3. It’s Elementary (Knowledge Community) will host multiple awareness and knowledge sharing programs.

What are you doing this Sunday?

4 Sundays of every month will bear witness to an awareness, empowerment or action project designed by Paper Ball Educational Innovation.

Clean-up drives is consciously designed as a high-effort activity which involves getting up early on a Sunday morning, reaching the location for clean-up drive, observing and using your hands for action.

Conceived as a moderate-effort activity, this requires participants to get into the repairing, conserving and community building mode. We spend about two hours on a Sunday evening to repair/salvage things that would otherwise be thrown away

A monthly face-to-face knowledge series that will focus on raising awareness and encouraging action by sharing small ideas about the role that each one of us can play positively with respect to the challenges that we and our planet is facing. The knowledge series is planned to evolve over time and will include sustainability workshops, interactive discussions, photograph exhibition, sharing collective wisdom among others.
