(A 2-day intensive mobile filmmaking workshop with Award Winning Documentary Maker Janantik Shukla (in pic))

Date: 16-May-2026 & 17-May-2026 (Sat/Sun)

Time: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (Both Days)

Nature can be understood in multiple ways — as landscape, ecology, urban life, memory, rhythm, decay, growth, or coexistence. Each perspective is valid. This two-day workshop invites participants to question, observe, and reinterpret nature through cinema, discussion, and mobile photography.

Rather than treating nature as something distant or purely scenic, the workshop explores it as an everyday presence — within the city, within architecture, within human relationships, and within ourselves.

Participants will engage with global visual references and then document Vadodara through their own eyes, using mobile cameras as creative tools.

About the Mentor:

Janantik Shukla is a filmmaker, director, producer, and cyclist whose work spans short films, documentaries, travelogues, and cycle journeys. Through these mediums, he explores human stories with empathy and curiosity.

Janantik is a recipient of Masters in Film and TV direction from SCAD, Savannah, US. His debut mobile short film was nominated at Interfilm Short Film Festival, Berlin. His documentary films have run in film festival circuit.

He began his journey as a filmmaker in New York and later continued growing creatively in Mumbai. Currently, he works in the Indian film industry as a script writer and second unit director on web series and feature films, while working on documentaries and developing his own debut feature film.

Being an amateur cyclist, when he reached Tang la pass peak (5,328 metres – 17,480 ft) in Ladakh on cycle, he felt that nothing is impossible. That feeling is still flowing in his veins and he brings that to every project.

About the Film: Kolkata-born wildlife filmmaker Ashwika Kapur, sets out on a deeply personal quest to uncover the roots of an illegal wildlife hunting festival in the forests of her home in Bengal. Here, each year, thousands of protected animals are massacred in an illegal blood sport. She finds a heart-breaking truth: children as young as three are handed catapults as weapons in an assault against wildlife. In a defiant act of hope, Ashwika teams up with conservationist Suvra Chatterjee, to inspire change where it matters most – in the hearts of children within these hunting communities.
