There are approximately 2.4 Bn childrenin the world
As per UNESCO’s GEM report only 38% countries have specific laws or policies for climate change education
education for sustainable devlopment (ESD) as a game-changer
According to Pew Research, people with more education tend to be more concerned about climate change. We also need to ensure that people are empowered with specific climate change education to help them adapt and make relevant changes to their lifestyles. We intend to lead with experiential climate change education for the children to take climate action forward.
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) includes Climate Change Education (CCE) and Sustainability Education within schools and other institutions. This is an holistic form of environmental education that takes Whole of Institution Approach (WIA) to ESD. This integrated and WIA uses multiple modes of delivery: a whole school programme for the entire academic year, experiential activities for children and youth, workshops for adults, awareness activities with hands-on action for diversified age groups. Overall, the intention is to further not just the holistic education that includes education for sustainable development, but also work with determination to achieve the targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13, Climate Action.
